INRAE

INRAE

INRAE is a French public research institute focusing on issues related to agriculture, food and the environment, and is one of the world’s leading institutes in these fields (https://www.inrae.fr/en/about-us). Its missions are (i) to generate and disseminate knowledge to help solve major societal challenges, and (ii) to apply this knowledge to foster innovation, provide expertise and support public policies. Three INRAE units are involved in the IPMorama project and play a key role in different aspects, including genotyping of wheat genetic resources (INRAE GDEC), characterisation of wheat cultivar resistance to leaf rust and phenotyping of leaf rust isolates (INRAE BIOGER), monitoring of wheat and potato cultivar and resistance deployment (INRAE GQE) and IPM strategies for wheat rusts. INRAE also leads a “Use Case Group” on wheat, which ensures transversal animation between the activities of the work packages focused on this crop.
